Default Creating/encouraging activity/gaining new players, keeping old players

We see new players start the game and then quit within a few days. We also see long time players that are bored and either not playing as much or quitting altogether.

Two questions -
1. Why did they lose interest?
2. What can PLaya do to improve the game and encourage participation?

There is no longer a guide within the game to teach the players how to play, there is no 'walk-through' for them. I'd like to see that come back.

Please make suggestions.

Thanks for your feedback. In my opinion it's normal that a certain percentage quits after some hours, days or weeks. It's not a problem of Bloodmoon, browser games in general but all games share this phenomenon (also on Steam for example). The vast amount of games makes it hard for devs that players stick to one game...and it has become normal that you buy a game, play it for 2 hours, then quit because you want to play or at least try out 20 other games.

What can be done for Bloodmoon?
What do you like, what don't you like? What can be improved?

Since discontinuing the tutorial, have they had a greater or lesser percentage to quit after a week?

To encourage players to sign in each day and play - perhaps another opportunity to earn something they want, something that will help them in the game? For example:
Do it in 7 day increment time period
Day 1 - meat (and whatever the vamps and hunters get)
Day 2 - single skill potion
Day 3 - 2 skills potion
Day 4 - 3 skills potion
Day 5 - 4 skill potions (1 for each attribute other than charisma)
Day 6 - Bloodstone
Day 7 - Enhancement potion (Speed, Eternal Life, Experience, Might)

I would suggest that we have to click in order to collect - because we would need to make sure space was available, especially on day 5.

If you miss a day playing, you go back to day 1.

This would reward the daily players.

If playa merges the servers, I would like to see them come up with some way for us to tell who is and is not active - I'm presuming that you will bring over inactive as well as active players. I know nothing about programing so I'll have to ask if it would be feasible to maybe change the font color in the Hall of Fame in some way to indicate activity?

Maybe something like, if a player logs into their account it changes from red to white? Then if they do not log in for a week, it reverts to red?

Perhaps something similar could be done with the guilds? If you declare an attack/battle, your guild name goes from red to white. No battle for a week and it reverts to red.

I'm thinking that it would help new players find active guilds to join, and it would help the guilds to find active players. Sometimes you have an active player, but not an active guild.
